Principle of Filtration
Any body of water if left to stand indefinitely without adequate filtration and chemical treatment will in time stagnate and become a pond. Therefore it is essential that water used for leisure purposes is properly filtered and maintained.
Today sand filters are the preferred favourite for pool and spa filtration because they are so user friendly - simple and cost effective to install and require minimal service and maintenance. With a correctly sized LACRON sand filter - pump and pipe work the pool (or spa) will be safe and inviting for years to come.

Filter Sizing for Residential Use
It is imperative from the outset of the design and construction of the pool that it's size and usage is established. For normal residential swimming pool use the appropriate filter sizes; see the guide in our products section.

Filter Sizing for Commercial Pools and Spas
For any specialized commercial application it is essential to work with the local standards, guide lines or government legislation. (Such standards do vary regionally and are regularly updated - consult your dealer.)
